Update Your Browser

One of most important steps you can take to protect yourself online is keeping your browser updated. Browser updates protect you from identity theft, phishing attacks, viruses, trojans, spyware, adware and other forms of malware. Updates are issued periodically to address these problems.  If you’ve not already done so, please enable the automatic update feature of your browser.

In most cases, there is no charge for browser updates. However, if you are using an older computer with an older operating system, it probably does not have the capacity to run current browsers. In that situation, we strongly recommend that you purchase a new computer in order to stay save online.

Here are the latest versions of the most popular computer browsers.  Earlier versions are considered insecure. This list was updated on June 17, 2025.

  • Chrome – Updates automatically; the latest is 138.0.7204.15 which was released on 6-4-25.
  • Microsoft Edge – Updates automatically; the latest is 137.0.3296.83 which was released on 6-13-25.
  • Firefox – Updates automatically; the latest version is 139.0.1 which was released 5-29-25.
  • Safari –  The latest version is 18.5 which was released on 5-12-25. Safari updates are not standalone and are included with updates to the operating system.
