Youth Savings FAQ's
What happens to a TUTMA account when a child turns 21?
At that time, the guardian’s oversight ceases and the account becomes the responsibility of your child or grandchild. Until then, it is a great way for the child to become financially aware while you monitor his/her progress.
Does my child need a Social Security number to open an account?
Yes. Please bring his/her social security card (or a clear copy) with you for account opening.
My child can’t sign her name yet. Can she open an account?
As soon as your child can (somewhat) legibly print his/her full name, they can open an account. We’ll get an official signature at a later time.
