    Instant Issue Check Cards

Check cards are rapidly replacing paper checks as the most popular way to make retail purchases. They're quick, they're convenient and they're easier than carrying a checkbook. We're pleased to announce that we can now issue these cards at our walk-in facilities, usually within an hour.

If you need a new card quickly or if your magnetic strip is damaged, we can quickly assist you onsite. And here's another benefit you'll enjoy - members can choose their own PIN.

We've changed the appearance of our VISA check card to help members distinguish it from their ATM card. The new design features a West Texas tank and windmill. As current cards expire, all check cards issued by ATFCU will be changed to the new design.

Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) for your Vehicle Purchase

You could lose more than your new or used vehicle if it is stolen or involved in a major accident. You could also lose your investment. Because most insurance policies only cover the value of your vehicle - something that rapidly declines during the first few yeas of ownership - your loan balance can be higher than the value of your vehicle. This situation is commonly called "being upside down" on a loan.

Now you can protect your vehicle investment with Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP). GAP protects you from a potential loan deficiency and covers the "gap" between the amount of your investment and the amount you still owe. Essentially, GAP protects you from substantial loss.

GAP was designed for all drivers, whether you finance a new or used vehicle. It covers automobiles, vans, and light trucks. GAP coverage goes into effect when you need it most - when your vehicle is stolen and isn't recovered, or is totaled in an accident.

GAP covers the difference between your insurance company's Actual Cash Value determination and the payoff amount of your loan. Delinquent payments, late charges, refundable service warranty contracts, other insurance-related products, and interest charged after the date of loss will be deducted from the GAP settlement.

For just pennies a day, GAP provides peace of mind, convenience, confidence and significant savings. Enrollment is simple. Contact your loan officer for details.

(Remember, our ATM card has a bright blue background with the red CO-OP triangle in the bottom left corner.)

Here's a way to find CO-OP machines when you're traveling. Look for the red, triangular CO-OP logo at the bottom of our homepage. Click there and you'll be directed to the CO-OP ATM locator page. You can choose to enter either the city and state OR the zip code for the area you're searching. Click on the 'GO' button and you'll receive a list and a map of surcharge-free CO-OP Network machines in the area.

Courtesy Pay for Life's Unexpected Situations

ATFCU is pleased to offer courtesy pay on selected checking accounts. (Members will receive a letter notifying that their account has been approved.) For those who manage their accounts in a reliable manner, this service will cover overdrafts up to a total of $600. You will be saved the embarrassment and inconvenience of a returned check, as well as the fee normally charged to you by merchants for checks returned to them.

Please note, that should an overdraft occur, your account will be charged our current NSF fee of $20 for handling each item paid under the overdraft privilege. However, since the check is not returned to the payee, you will not be required to pay the merchant's returned check fee, an amount which is usually in the $29 - $35 range.

It is our pleasure to make this service available to you as a means of expressing our appreciation for your fiancial responsibility. Emergencies happen and this tool will allow you to deal with them promptly.

Should the courtesy pay feature be misused, ATFCU reserves the right to revoke it at any time without prior notice. If you have any questions about your courtesy pay status, please direct them to the Accounting Department.
