Frequently Asked Credit Union Questions


Q: Are my deposit accounts NCUA insured?
A: Yes! Each individual member's account is federally insured to at least $100,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government through NCUA, the National Credit Union Administration.

Q: How do I set up Direct Deposit of my payroll check?
A: After your checking application has been approved, you will receive our routing and transit number and your account number. If your employer participates in a direct deposit program, simply provide this information to the human resources or payroll department at your company, and your direct deposit will usually begin within thirty days.

Q: How do I set up Direct Deposit of my Social Security check?
A: After your checking application has been approved, you will receive our routing and transit number and your account number. Contact our Accounting Department and have your Social Security Number and account information available to set up your direct deposit right over the phone.

Q: Can I get information about my account by phone?
A: Yes! Account information is available from our Member Information Center Representatives during business hours. Your might also be interested in our Infoline telephone banking program. Infoline is available 24 hours a day and is available in both English and Spanish.

You can use a touch tone phone or a rotary dial phone to obtain information, check account balances, find out which checks have cleared, transfer funds between accounts and inquire about deposits and loan payments. Our Member Services Department will need to set you up before this service can be used, so please contact them before attempting to make your first Infoline call.

Q: What products can I apply for online?

Q: Do you offer IRAs?
A: Yes we do offer competitive rates on both traditional and Roth IRAs. To see our current rates, please visit our Savings page.

Q: Is interest paid on my Share Draft account?
A: Yes! Abilene Teachers FCU Checking (Share Draft) Accounts earn interest . Interest is calculated based upon the minimum daily balance in your account. Please note that we never charge a service charge on your checking account if you fall below a specified minimum.

Q: Can I open an account if I don't live in the United States? What if I live in the United States but am not a citizen yet?
A: As long as you qualify for membership under our guidelines, you can become a member regardless of your address. Check our guidelines here. Conversely, you can remain a member even if you move out of the country.

Q: Can I do all of my banking with you?
A: Yes! Thanks to the convenience of Direct Deposit, Online Banking, Check Cards, Bill Payment Services and ATMs, everyday financial activities can be performed on your own time.

In addition, we have some of the most competitive loan rates in the region. Whether you're ready to buy a new vehicle, make home improvements, need a signature loan or maybe even buy a home, our friendly, experienced loan officers can probably make it happen.

A:Yes! With Online Banking, you have access to your account information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Q: How frequently is my information updated?
A: Your account information is updated every business day with new transactions that posted to your account the previous day.

Q: Are wire transfers possible to and from my checking account?
A: Yes! Funds can be transferred to and from accounts by wire transfer or via ACH (Automated Clearing House) debits or credits. Contact our Accounting Department for details.

Q: How do I make a deposit to my account from a remote location?
A: You can do most of your banking by using direct deposit, ATMs or ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions. Contact our Accounting Department for details on a method that's best for you.

Q: When do I have access to use online Home Banking?
A: With online banking, you have access to your account information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
