Restart Checking

Restart Checking has all the basic features of a regular checking account, but it is designed for individuals who want to rebuild their financial record. Have you ever had an account closed when it was overdrawn? If so, your name may appear on a national list called ChexSystemsSM. Many financial institutions use this list when qualifying persons for new accounts. Appearing on this list reduces your chances of being able to open an account.

• Free mobile banking 
• Free FinanceWorks budgeting tool
• $5 monthly fee
• Possible graduation into a traditional account after one year at member's request

Restrictions

• Debit card is available but some transactions are restricted
• Courtesy Payment of overdrafts is not available
• Maximum daily ATM withdrawal of $500
• The account will be closed if the balance is negative for 42 consecutive days

Criteria for Opening a Restart Checking Account

• $25 minimum to open account
• No past fraud activity
• Must be at least 18 years old
• No previous amounts owed to Abilene Teachers FCU
• Accounts opened pending approval
• Restrictions apply

To open a Restart Checking account, an individual must meet the standard ATFCU membership eligibility requirements. A Member Services Representative can discuss these with you and you will find a detailed list on our How to Join page.

A Restart Checking account can be opened in any of our lobby locations. In compliance with the 2001 Patriot Act, we must verify your identity so please remember to bring your Social Security card and your driver's license with you.
