About ATFCU

Why Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union?

Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union (ATFCU) is a full service financial institution, offering the latest products for our members along with great rates and friendly, personal service.

Since 1950, ATFCU has been offering superior financial services with a member oriented focus. We are different from other financial institutions because we are a not-for-profit cooperative. We're owned by and work for our members. That means decisions are made with you in mind. Instead of maximizing profits for shareholders, we return them to our members in the form of better rates and lower fees.

Our mission statement is short but sufficient. It reads, "The mission of ATFCU is to provide comprehensive services to our members in an efficient, friendly, and professional manner." Simply put, as a member you matter. Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union is committed to member satisfaction and will assist you in any way we can.

Your Money is Secure at ATFCU

During the economic recession which began in 2008 many news reports have focused on the poor financial condition of banks. Because of these reports, we want to assure our membership that Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union is financially strong and looking forward to continued growth and future opportunities.

Safeguarding your funds is of vital importance to Abilene Teachers FCU. Federally chartered credit unions have share insurance through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a federal government agency. Member savings, checking, IRA's and CD accounts are insured to a total of at least $250,000. Not one penny of insured savings has ever been lost by a member of a federally-insured credit union.

Conservative investment policies help insure ATFCU's continued safety and soundness. By law, we are forbidden from investing in risky ventures to increase profits. Please contact us for more information or to obtain a copy of our latest annual report.
